The more we look, the more we find that in historical records not only of Vietnam, but also in China and in the West, there are abundant information to confirm that the archipelago that the world knows as Paracel, but the Vietnamese people call Hoang Sa or Bai Cat Vang which means Golden Sandbank has been a part of Vietnam's sacred land for centuries. Thus, it is no longer a surprise to see that there is yet another map, dating back to 1780 which depicts Vietnam along with Paracel islands noted as a part of this country. What is shown in this map is consistent with the Dai Nam Nhat Thong Toan Do map drawn by the Nguyen Dynasty. (Le Duc)
